Monday

O fking well

I usually fast on Mondays and Thursdays.
But seeing that I'm at home, well...

I only managed to fast half a day and ate the scones mummy baked.
Gobbled up some home made jelly.
Gulped down a whole bowl worth of veggies and fruits.

Then had dinner.
More scones.
And fruits.

Looking good!...

ahaha. What a joke

Other than my eating habits,
I layed in bed throughout my fasting hours,
Decided not to jog in the am or pm...because I gave an excuse that I was fasting...
Helped mummy cook in the kitchen,
Caught up with Aishah P for a bit,
And watched more TV.

Must. try. harder..

New me?

Emotional rant over.

Coming back to the sane girl that I am.

Taking control over things right now, today, after that whole packet of dark chocolate I had...but its okay thats in the past...
I'll just toss the memories to the back just like another ex-boyfriend.

Eating AND living healthy!

Bismillahirahmanirahim.
I hope I'm strong enough to stop binging.
Okay hihihuhu

The article explains the nutritional values and all the scientific yadi yada's.

I've drawn out a master plan (cheh)
Which is to stock up my own grocery (with my OWN cash)

Easy things to get and munch on.
-Also, easy to prepare and experiment on

Raisins to snack on whenever I'm bored or feel like eating. Its sweet, so it can stop my sweet cravings (which is every second). Some people say its high in cholesterol, which I'm not sure whether its true, but its great for the eyes *sparkling eyes*

Soy milk. Soya bean. Yes, bottles of soya bean. Melissa and YeeSin have also suggested to eat cereals with this instead of milk. A food challenge I'm willing to try. Instead of mixing water, I can also try to eat it with my oats/nestum. Other than soya bean, taufu fah, taufu (fried with soy sauce or even better, boiled with spinach) and tempe.

Dark chocolates/cocoa powder. I'd recommend cocoa powder, rather than pre packed dark chocolate (unless its Hersheys or high quality chocolates. Cocoa is essential. For every hormonal girl out there. Also it prevents us from feeling restricted. Add cocoa powder in your everyday oats or eat it with fruits. Mix it in warm milk. If you want chocolate slabs, I actually have a recipe for homemade dark chocolates.

Coconut oil 2 tablespoon
Cocoa powder 2 tablespoon (the amount of oil to cocoa powder is 1:1, so its upto you really)

Melt the oil (if its already liquidized, just mix it with the cocoa powder)
Then refrigerate it!

Mix it into cereals, oat, yoghurt, fruits, however you want. Its low in cholesterol and contains healthy fats!

I'm not sure if its the right recipe I've got here, but I'll make it and post it up to see how it works.
The chocolate melts really fast, though.

Nuts (Sunflower seeds in particular). Don't get the fried ones in the packets! Get raw nuts, and bake them. Anything fried is not good, especially if its pre packed. Sunflower nuts are best raw or pumpkin seeds for those rare savory needs I have.

Cereal. Cornflakes. Plane cornflakes. No fancy added sugars or tastes. For breakfast, lunch, dinner, supper, midnight snacking. I won't exactly say its not fattening, but its better than the chocolate cake mum brought home :/

Muesli & oats. Yes please. It saddens me that mummy buys boxes of muesli and oats for herself and restricts me from eating them... maybe its cause I snack on them and finish em within 3 days.... :( Sad. I'm also going to invest in oat biscuits like Quaker's oat cookies or Oat Krunch for quick bites. Whee

Fruits. Bananas, packets of apples and pears. Fruits are delis and cheap. So no complains there.

Vegetables. Celery sticks & carrots. I'm not listing every vegetable in the 'vegetable list' because I'm writing down the things I'm going to buy and snack on. No dips (optional, try eggplant, olive oil/grape seed oil, or honey mustard. Avoid thousand island or mayonnaise, it beats the purpose), just chopped up and raw. Yum!

Dried cranberries/prunes. Expensive, but so delicious! So I'll only buy these for treats and eat them in moderation. Pitted prunes are delish, but not the best option :(

Yoghurt. Huge tub of yoghurt for my a.m. dosage. Plain yoghurt or greek yoghurt. May seem boring, but with plain yoghurt, I can mix it up and eat it however I want, which is even better. Greek yoghurt goes best with fruits or veggies!

"Stop complaining. People get bored and annoyed. Shut up and live healthy"

Wish me luck!

The battle ground

I just noticed how shallow my posts have been for... the past year.

I haven't written anything intellectual or worth reading in a really long time.
But thats where the course of my life has brought me to.

Moving on to denser topics and insignificant words ;

I suddenly feel inspired to write this down (even though I've sworn to never write anything personal or private.ever again), but I'm going to pour out in this one little post about what I've realized these past couple of years.

Every girl out there, from the tender age of 8 is fighting a silent battle.
This is going to come across as shallow as the puddle of water after a heavy rain, but I dare say that about 90% of girls are fighting the weight battle.

I don't know what it is, maybe its the generation ; we can always point our fingers at social networks, and media.

-What else is there to point at, really?

I was never one to fall into the deep pit. I've always wondered why my friends used to read the nutritional facts at the back of the food packets.
Till I got out of high school, I started to pack on the fucking pounds.
Sad as a mother fuckin fat fucker rolling down a hill in willies.

I didn't really notice it until...well, until I couldn't fit into my own clothes.
I was always the tall lanky flat skinny girl with no curves who ate bread everyday.
and BAM.

Okay enough about my sad story. To summarize it I now find myself fighting this exact war.
And every other girl I know is either on a 'diet' or 'workout mania'.
Its sad.
So so very sad.

Battling this voice in your head, counting every calorie in every dish that you have, feeling sick of yourself after a good meal, wanting to stick your arm into your throat to pull your insides out, the regrets, the tears, the fear, the hate.
Its so tiring.

And at the end of the day, I don't even know what all the effort is for.
To have a banging body?
Whats so amazing about having your ribs sticking out, and your curves as flat as land?
Women are supposed to have curves, fats, meat.

But this generation doesn't see that.
We ignore the fact that women are blessed in such a way.
We refuse to accept the fact that they're NOT fat -as long as I'm not in a size 00, and weight 2 pounds, I'm fat.

Fat fat fat complain complain complain workout workout workout starve starve starve still fat.

I just don't want to be part of the generation where ; skinny is the definition of beauty.

Unfortunately, I am part of that society. And I would hate for my children to be part of the ride.
